All their lives a great bit mess.
Hoped for more
Got something less.
Thought themselves to special be.
Trapped in mediocrity.
Pain of life too much to bear.
Perfect lipstick, perfect hair.
Numbing , coping, trying to breath.
Trapped in mediocrity.
Where does satisfaction lie
When all you want to do is die?
There are no more tears left to cry.
The life you lead, enormous lie.
Drained [...]

She’s lovely
There
Buried in the perceptions of second daughter
A joy and a Fury
Sometimes it’s harder
Not to be
Lost in the countenance of ME
The second
Not the first
Neither best, nor worst
But this one and ONLY spark
Fills the room with passion and heart
A quiet breath of pure beauty
An inspiration
That IS Lilly

We live in strength
We persevere
We conquer doubt
The path is clear

Mos Def and Karouac
A Rhythm
A thwack thwack
Of the Beatnik’s drum
Soul poets
Seeing through eyes inspired
A vision not tired
A breath
And a beat
Thwack Thwack
You speak
It’s the truth of the rhythm of cities and roads
A traveller’s song
Moving along
With a jazzy beat
Thwack Thwack
Mos Def and Karouac

Twisting and turning
My heart won’t stop yearning
for clarity and peace
My Source my relief
How is one to believe
people in choices won’t deceive
When guidance and friendship aren’t enough
It’s tough
At the expense of friendships true
Authentic in support of you
Your crisis blinds
Distorts your mind
A past of bad decisions made
A lust obeyed
Friends’ debt unpaid
A trust betrayed

In depth
Pain speaks
A disconnected silent scream
A small voice whose only connection is through an even smaller voice
Verdant images
Sucking mud and burning stumps
A love betrayed and forgiven through loss
Water crashes and the small self drowns
New life birthed again through the waters of the great mother ocean
With this love
With this passion

…a little ditty I wrote on break today
Gun totin’ Sarah Palin
Likes to eat moose stew
Shame you with her manicure
Then kick you with her boot
She’s a real tough lady
A lipstick wearing dog
But you will soon lament it
If comparing her to hogs
As for “the bridge to nowhere”
She claims she said, “no thanks”
But she made sure to keep [...]

Listening to insects singing
Pulse is pumping
Washer thumping
Unrhythmic click of dryer turning
Esophogus and stomach burning
Eyes are bleary
I can’t see
Blurry scrawl
Gassy me
Quiet the mind
Move the pen
Don’t let the voice of work break in
Is this finished?
It must be.
It is time for bed for me.

Petulant deceptions
Relatively harmless in their scope
but annoying nonetheless
You lie like a child
stealing a toy, your stuffed pockets bulge
Did you really get what you wanted?
When confronted, you acuse
When facts are presented you yell in defensiveness
A grown man’s tantrum
Tell me how to ask the questions the right way
and stop with petulent deceptions

Any woman who has experienced PMS, any child who has been in the back seat with a sibling on a long trip, any man desiring his cave….
Where does it stop
Where does it begin
Who is at fault when you’re stepping on my skin
Endless chatter
An annoying grin
Whistling
Talking
You are stepping on my skin
I choose five
You choose ten
Around and [...]
